Not much going on today; class from 10 AM - 12 PM, and then an hour of practising the synthesis mechanisms for cyclic acetal protecting groups, amide formations, Weinreb amides, and converting nitriles to ketones.
Second semester chemistry is really something I'm beginning to enjoy because we're starting to learn the techniques to actually build decently complicated molecules - some with commercial applications as well.
Back in my World of Warcraft days, I used to play as an alchemist Mage. I'd create potions to enchant my items by farming herbs, trading with other alchemists, and scavenging for reagents at the auction house. It's amazing to actually be able to do it in real life now (on paper) - especially once you're fluent in it.
